What are your normal business hours?

7.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday
7.30 am to 4.00 pm Friday

Do you have a minimum charge?

Our minimum charge during our normal business hours is one hour’s labour, plus a vehicle service charge to cover vehicle expenses and fuel. Any materials used are additional to these charges.

What is your hourly rate?

Our hourly rates are very reasonable. Our rates for domestic maintenance are in the mid-range for plumbing work within Hawkes Bay. We also offer very competitive rates for larger quoted projects. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No, unless the work is carried out outside normal business hours (see below).

Does it cost me more for work over the weekend or after hours?

For work carried out outside normal business hours (including weekends and statutory holidays):we charge a minimum fee of two hours (not one)

What if I need a tradesman urgently?

Please call us on 06-876 5057 and we will be able to tell you how quickly we can arrive to help. In most emergency cases, we can have a tradesman at your door within an hour of your call.

When do I have to pay you?

Our invoice will be forwarded to you as soon as possible, after completion of the work. Full payment of our invoice is required by the 20th of the following month. Please refer to our terms of trade on the back of our invoices or click here to read them in full.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes.

Are you members of the Master Plumbers Association?

Yes.

How experienced are your tradesmen?

Our tradesmen have over 300 years worth of experience between them. More than a third of our staff have over 30 years industry experience each. All our staff are required to undergo training of between 8 to 32 hours each year, to keep them up to speed with changes within the industry. This is required before they can renew their annual Plumbing, Drainage and Gas Fitting Licences.

What do I do if I am unhappy with your workmanship?

Please advise us of your concerns as soon as possible and they will be addressed quickly and effectively.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by internet banking, cash or cheque. 

What can I do to keep the charge to a minimum?

By doing a few simple things in advance, you can reduce the amount of time our tradesmen spend on your job. Here are a few ideas that may help you to save money:

Describe your plumbing problem as fully as possible. This helps our tradesman to assess what tools and parts they may need. All tradesman carry general amounts of stock items, but it is not possible to carry everything that may be required.

Clear the area as much as you can. It will save time if our tradesman does not have to clear the area where they are working.

Tell us where your water toby is located. Quite often we need to turn off the water supply to make repairs. If you can direct our tradesman directly to the toby, and it is accessible and in a workable condition, this will reduce his billable time.

Tell us whether your hot water cylinder is “low” or “mains” pressure. The pressure affects the type of tapware, shower fittings and valves that may need replaced or repaired. If you advise us of this pressure type at the time of booking, it may avoid the need for our tradesman to leave the job to obtain the correct parts or materials from our depot or suppliers.

Provide us with a Drainage Plan of where your sewer system is located. In most cases you can ask for a free copy of your drainage plan from the Council.
